Tiohtià:ke/Montreal is historically known as a meeting place for many First Peoples. Tennis Canada wishes to pay tribute to these peoples by acknowledging that we are located on traditional unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien’keha:ka Nation, also known as the Mohawk Nation, is recognized as custodian of the lands and waters on which we gather today. It is with respect for the ties to the past, present, and future, that we recognize our current relationships with Indigenous peoples, and with all members of the community where we have had the privilege of living, working and playing for over a hundred years.
