The second day of the main draw of the National Bank Open presented by Rogers promises to be action-packed.
No less than seven seeded players will be out to thrill the 5,000 fans watching live on Centre Court and on their screens.
In the day session, which gets under way at 11 a.m., 17-year-old sensation Coco Gauff (15) will cross swords with Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia on the main stage.
Their match will be followed by Garbine Muguruza (5) of Spain versus Katerina Siniakova of Czechia.
In the third match, Petra Kvitova of Czechia will try to outdo Fiona Ferro of France.
Later, the day’s can’t-miss match featuring current titleholder Bianca Andreescu (2) and Harriet Dart of Great Britain is slated for 7 p.m.
To close out the evening, veteran champion Victoria Azarenka (8) will battle Sorana Cirstea of Romania.
There will be four other matches on the outer courts. Elise Mertens (9) of Belgium will challenge Camila Giorgi of Italy on Court 9, and Elena Rybakina (12) of Kazakhstan will have to contend with Liudmila Samsonova of Russia.
Finally, Rogers Court will host Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (10) of Russia and Caroline Garcia of France, as well as Canadian Carol Zhao and Sara Sorribes Tormo of Spain in the day’s third match.
