For the web-savviest among us, Tuesday, October 22 is a very special day. Today, we celebrate CAPS LOCK Day to honour what’s certainly one of the best ways to drive people totally nuts.
Though they’re more generally associated with anger and yelling, all caps can also express a positive intense emotional state. So, we’re going all (caps) out to recap some of the WTA’s most cap-worthy moments from this past season.
READY? HERE WE GO!
1. Bianca Andreescu comes into her own
Bianca Andreescu’s performances are the absolute highlight of the year. Enough said.
A title in Indian Wells, another in Toronto and one at Flushing Meadows and an ascent from World No.152 to No.4 despite being plagued by injury for much of the year.
AMAZING! WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT SHE DOES NEXT!
2. Coco Gauff’s star on the rise
15 years old, 7 back-to-back wins at Wimbledon to reach round 4 and her very 1st WTA title in Austria.
Coco Gauff seems unstoppable.
Let’s relive just one of her many, many highlights from this season, shall we?
OMG! SHE’S REALLY ONE TO WATCH!
3. Compassionate Naomi Osaka
Battling in front of fans in the third round of the US Open, Coco Gauff was no match for then World No.1 Naomi Osaka.
Seeing her rival in tears, Osaka couldn’t help but comfort her and even joined her in the on-court interview afterwards.
SO TOUCHING! NAOMI OSAKA SHOWED UNBELIEVABLE SPORTSMANSHIP. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE MOMENTS LIKE THIS.
4. Monica Puig’s point of the month
Great tennis is all about great rallies, and we’ll never get tired of points like this one between Monica Puig and Angelique Kerber. It most definitely deserved the title of point of the month last September!
5. Kirsten Flipkens’ tweener
Earlier this season in Indian Wells:
6. Victoria Azarenka and little Leo
We’re stopping here, though we could go on and on and on. THE TENNIS WAS SO GREAT! We can’t wait for the next shots that’ll make us hit the CAPS LOCK button, even when it’s not a national day.
